Testimonials (continued)
Al Terhune led a team from Calvary Chapel, Old Bridge, in August of 2001 to Scotland. While he and his team were in Scotland, they were asked to help up for a few days by coming alongside our small fellowship in Ayr to outreach to the local community and to an old peoples retirement home. Al and his team trained us and showed us the benefits of using many different tools in Evangelism, in particular by using face painting, balloon animals, illusions (illustrations that reveal the truth) and a sketch board, to really grab people's attention in a fun way while sharing with them the gospel. Al preached in the streets and outside our church building while the team ministered to individuals. The result of this was that people came to know the Lord. While the team was here, our Lord gave us this scripture during our morning devotional time:
Exodus 14:13…And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever." (NKJ)
This was what happened during the team's visit, people came to know the Lord and lives were changed. I would thoroughly recommend Al Terhune. He is powerfully gifted in Evangelism and the various support skills that can attract people’s attention long enough to hear the gospel and make a decision. He clearly reflects the love of Jesus in a way that touches both believers and unbelievers. We were greatly encouraged and blessed by Al and the team from Old Bridge.

The Lord has brought me under his wing for the past three years. I can say in all honesty and sincerity that he is a man that leads by example. I covet the heart God has given him for the lost, the love he has for the saints and his love for Jesus Christ. He has not only lead by example but has been equipping and encouraging others and myself to faithfully minister the gospel to others through open-air meetings and outreaches. Evangelism is a way of Christian life rather than a scheduled show. I have learned from him that sharing Jesus with others doesn't start and end with an outreach but starts when you become a Christian and ends when you go home to be with the Lord. God has things planned (divine meetings) from the foundation of the world that we don’t even know about. The evangelism training I received from him involved scripture geared toward evangelism, magic tricks to use as illustrations and balloon animals that I have been able to use as a witness for Christ. So what I learned from him I was able to apply to my life and witness. As Al continues to exalt the name of Christ I hope many Christians within Calvary Chapel and other like-minded Churches will be blessed by the ministry God has blessed this man with as I have been.

I would like to take this opportunity to comment on my experience in ministry with Al Terhune and offer my recommendation regarding his gift of evangelism and his new ministry endeavor. I have known Al for over 2 years. I had the chance to attend his in-house training class on evangelism, which greatly improved my ability to communicate the Gospel. I have also been blessed by seeing Al at work in the streets, both locally and in New York City, preaching the Gospel on street corners. Al's fearlessness coupled with his gift of preaching the Gospel in a simple, effective, and appropriate manner makes him the best street preacher I have ever personally come across. I am also impressed by Al's gift of Scripture memorization on a daily basis. Al's new venture is tailor-made for him. I believe the Lord has put a burden on his heart in this area, and has clearly called him to use his gifts in this way. To see the Lord use Al to equip the Body through training and hands-on exemplification of street evangelism is exciting. I believe any church would benefit from having Al train its members in evangelistic endeavors.

Over the past 3 years, Al has been involved with 3 outreaches at our fellowship in Hackettstown, NJ. He also came up and taught an evangelistic training class. He (Jesus) has ministered to the body and to the community through Al and his family. His family has also been a part of the ministry. Al has used the gift of evangelism the Lord has given and blessed the sheep. We have seen others saved and a few are still walking with the Lord and coming out to fellowships at different times. Our fellowship has been encouraged, ministered to, grown, and has developed a greater sense of urgency with the lost as a result of co-laboring with Al.
We love him and his family and are praying about our involvement as a fellowship where the Lord is leading him. We are also looking forward to another outreach up north with Al. The Lord has an anointing on Al and is using him for His glory. I am looking forward to seeing what Jesus is going to do in and through Al if the Lord tarries and we are looking forward to sharing and partnering with him.

Al, you were such a blessing!! I love the way God creates us all as unique and uses our different gifts, but every now and then He creates someone with super-special gifts and gives them a wonderful anointing and that's what He's done with you. Keep your eyes on Jesus!!! You are welcome at our church anytime.

With regard to the mission work during the week you were here I must say that all who took part in it were extremely well blessed. Phil at the Sunbridge Road Mission was so blessed by the number (7) of addicts that came to Christ that Wednesday night and are still coming along. For 18 month they had run that real hope meeting with very little fruit from it. So to see so many being saved that night was a real encouragement. They had become so accustomed to seeing these people just receiving the food, stopping just a short time to here the Gospel and then leaving that it took them by surprise on that Wednesday when people actually came forward to receive Christ. We have been greatly encouraged by the week’s mission. The children also that made commitment to the Lord are coming along and that has been a great encouragement to the young people workers.
Pastor Kevin McHugh from Wrose Hill Chapel has also been greatly encouraged by the visit to his Fellowship and there has been openness amongst some of the fellowship to go forward in developing an evangelistic ministry there. We just want to thank you again Al for being open to the Lord and coming to Bradford and ministering among us. We will also continue to pray about further visits in the future God willing.

To whom it may concern,
I’m writing this letter for multiple reasons concerning… “Takin' It To The Streets Ministries”.
In June 2003 T.T.S.M. sent a team of three people to help me with a church plant I’m involved with as the pastor in South San Antonio, TX. The three people were, Al and Linda Terhune, and Bruce Comins.
It was like I knew them my whole life. Bruce is very much a gentleman. Bruce told me that he has never led anyone to the Lord yet. By seeing his demeanor I can tell you that, that is not true! Bruce is so kind and such a servant that I believe that he’ll be very surprised at what a large impact he really has had on many, many lives!! Keep up the good work.
Linda is a sweetheart eager to do all she can. Linda, she couldn’t have been a bigger blessing if she tried. Unfortunately she got ill on her trip here. She was still the Champ of the trip. She never let her feelings get in the way of her total love for Jesus and us.
Al is quite a character, funny as can be. He is a very entertaining evangelist, but not once kidding aroundwith the truth of the gospel. He was very nice and charming but taking serious the work God has given him to do. He was used by God to speak at a convention center, parks, and at church. Seizing the opportunity to share with any who would listen to the LOVE OF CHRIST JESUS.
In my humble opinion… if you want to have a life changing experience with a group of Sold out Believers, passionate for Christ you would be doing your self a huge disservice by not at the very least praying and asking God if these people should come and visit you and help your ministry. Their hearts are truly focused on one thing Populating Heaven!
Thank you guys for coming to San Antonio and wish to see you again A.S.A.P. May Jesus continue to bless your ministry.
